Castor Vali’s Role in Ensuring Safety and Security
Castor Vali proudly returned to the Rhino Charge in Kenya, held last weekend, marking our 8th year as one of the main sponsors. This year, the competition took place at Torosei in Kajiado County, featuring 54 of the potential 65 teams, a notable increase from the previous year.
Steve Grant, our Chief Executive Officer, and Kevin Crawford, Country Manager Kenya, represented Castor Vali. Kevin shared, “This is my second year attending Rhino Charge as part of the Castor Vali team. It’s a great opportunity to reconnect with old friends and to play a part in making the event a success.”
Comprehensive Security Management
Steve, a member of the main Rhino Charge committee, took on the role of Deputy Clerk of the Course. Under the leadership of Kevin and Steve, Castor Vali managed the security and safety of the Charge, conducting a thorough risk assessment and developing a comprehensive security plan.
During the competition weekend, the Castor Vali team coordinated with officials, ground security teams, law enforcement, volunteers, and the local community.
Record-Breaking Fundraising Efforts
This year’s fundraising efforts were remarkable, with KES 325 million (US$ 2.5 million) raised, significantly surpassing the previous year’s total. Kevin noted, “The dedication and generosity of everyone involved in this event is inspiring. At Castor Vali, we are always looking for ways to support the communities in which we operate, and we are proud to be a long-standing sponsor of an event that supports ecosystem restoration and conservation.” The funds, raised for the Rhino Ark Charitable Trust, will be used to protect Kenya’s mountain range ecosystems, promoting harmony between humans, wildlife, and their habitats.
Congratulations to all involved in making Rhino Charge 2024 unforgettable! As always, it was an absolute pleasure for Castor Vali to be part of this incredible journey that unites the passions for motorsport and conservation.
